Stefani’s House

6:30pm

β€œI spent my summers bottling πŸ‘ es and my winters rotating

We spent the next day boiling and skinning πŸ‘ es.”

β€œThen again, if we were going to take cover on the mountain when the Feds came, I didn’t understand why we were canning all these πŸ‘ es. We couldn’t haul a thousand heavy Mason jars up the peak. Or did we need the πŸ‘es so we could bunker down in the house, like the Weavers, and fight it out?”

β€œWe kept on bottling πŸ‘es.”

β€œI would hear their echo in the chirp of crickets, in the squish of πŸ‘es dropping into a glass jar, in the metallic chink of an SKS being cleaned.”

β€œI took in the pearly sink, the rosy tint of the carpet, the πŸ‘-colored rug.”

β€œMeanwhile, my family boiled and skinned πŸ‘ es, pitted apricots and churned apples into sauce.”

β€œNew Year’s Day, Mother drove me to my new life. I didn’t take much with me: a dozen jars of home-canned πŸ‘es, bedding, and a garbage bag full of clothes.”

β€œSo what if there were rotting πŸ‘es in the fridge and dirty dishes in the sink?”

Was looking for something made from potato (Idaho theme) that wasn’t latkes (I figured there might be someone else who wanted to make that). As is often the case, a patient came to my rescue- Lefse- a Norwegian Potato pancake, made often at the Holidays. Love a new challenge. I will bring a variety of sausages to go along.
